Alon Day Set For Truck Debut
After impressing fans in his XFINITY Series debut at Mid-Ohio, Alon Day is set for his Camping World Truck Series debut this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Day will be driving the Contreras Motorsports, running the No. 71 FLwaterfront.com Chevrolet Silverado, as he becomes the first Iraeli driver to race in the series. It’s a fitting partnership as the organization is the only Hispanic and Mexican owned team.
Earlier this year in August, Day was impressive at Mid-Ohio as he ran inside the top-10 throughout the event en route to a 13th place finish. He then spent most of the day in the top-10 in his second XFINITY Series start at Road America, before being forced off course in the closing stages.
The opportunities have come Day’s way virtue of finishing second in the NASCAR’s Whelen Euro Series last season after winning three of the four final races. Named to the NASCAR Next Class this season, he was also the first Israeli driver to compete in the Indy Lights Series, running six races.
