Chase Briscoe Named Most Popular Driver
For the third time in the past four years, a Brad Keselowski Racing driver has been named the Most Popular Driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as Chase Briscoe took home the crown in 2017.
The Ford Performance Development Driver backed up his popularity on-track, placing sixth in the season standings after leading 81 of the 134 laps in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway en route to a dominating first career truck series victory.
Briscoe has already announced that he will be running 12 NASCAR XFINITY Series races as part of Roush Fenway’s new development team in partnership with Ford and Team Penske, while running some select Mustang GT4 events in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series. He is also slated for some Mustang races in the Trans-Am TA2 class, as well.
The award comes after a lengthy twitter campaign by BKR that included weekly videos with both their drivers, Briscoe and Austin Cindric, doing whatever they could to get votes.
