Kyle Busch’s Team Penalized Following XFINITY Victory at Pocono

Following a victory in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Pocono Green 250, Joe Gibbs Racing received a penalty from NASCAR.

The No. 18 Toyota of Kyle Busch was found in violation of sections Post-Qualifying and PostRace Front Body Inspection Heights. Essentially, the car did not meet the NASCAR’s allowed tolerances. While the height rule was eliminated for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, it remains in effect for the XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series.

As a result, crew chief Eric Phillips was fined $10,000 and suspended from the next NASCAR XFINITY Series event, which is this weekend’s LTi Printing 250. Additionally, they lost 10 regular season driver and owner points.

It marks the second straight week a Joe Gibbs Racing car was found in violation of this specific rule, following Christopher Bell‘s third-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
