Kyle Larson came up a little short in Saturday night’s 57th Annual 5-Hour Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals, but not by much.

Larson, who drives the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, finished second to Donny Schatz, who won the nation’s biggest sprint car race for the 10th time. Schatz drives for Tony Stewart Racing, the sprint car team owned by the three-time Cup champion.

This afternoon, Larson will be strapped back into his CGR Cup car as he goes for his third consecutive victory at Michigan International Speedway. Larson, who won from the pole at MIS in June, will start ninth today.
